Innovation Area ‘Cohesive and Sustainable Rural Businesses’

Woodland Volunteering and Youth Training Project

This project will provide training and practical experience in woodland management for unemployed young people which will enhance their employment potential in the rural skills sector. It will also develop and support volunteering opportunities for youth and interested individuals in community woodlands in the Scottish Borders (£45,780). 

Eyemouth Transitions

This project will link groups of young people with local artists to develop a series of art sessions which will celebrate the opening of the new Eyemouth High School (£5,450).  

Innovation Area ‘Distinctive Local Products’

Working Together

The aim of this project is to develop the Tweed Valley as a world class activity centre by 2015.  This will be achieved by strengthening the Tweed Valley Tourism Consortium, a range of marketing and PR initiatives, events, training and product development (£60,000)
